The Rock has one policy on set that will entirely influence the people he hires for movies

The Rock has one policy on set that will entirely influence the people he hires for movies

Both The Rock and Chris Evans were in agreement on the rule

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has truly established himself after being consistently ranked as one of Hollywood's highest-paid stars in recent years.

And if you can't smell what The Rock is cooking then you better get off set.

Alongside Chris Evans, the pair were promoting their latest film Red One, which sees Johnson play Callum Drift, a tough, no-nonsense operative tasked with saving Christmas.

Opposite him, the Captain America star plays Jack O'Malley, a quick-witted gadget expert and together the unlikely duo team up against villain J.K. Simmons, who threatens to ruin the holidays.

Chatting to etalk, The Rock was full of praise for his co-star, saying: "I could go on and on. I could talk till the sun goes down."

"Please do," Evans interjected, as the WWE legend continued: "Obviously guys, incredibly talented. He's had this incredible career. It's just getting started, as I like to say for Chris.

"But I feel like also, you know, reputations, especially in Hollywood, they precede us.

"And even though we've never worked together, I had heard that he was an awesome guy, and that was important."

Explaining his one rule on set, Johnson said: "We have a policy for Seven Bucks Productions, and just for me too as well.

"Like we've reached this point in our career, we're like, we don't work with a**holes anymore."

Evans then agreed: "You know what he said to me, when I when I first spoke with him, he was like, 'Listen, man, we just have the policy here. No a**holes, no a**holes. And I was like, 'You know what man, that's right up my alley'.

"And he's right, like, reputation, you know your vibe, your vibe on set, matters, specifically with a Christmas movie."

Now, over on Rotten Tomatoes, the critics gave Red One an underwhelming 30 percent, while general audience members scored it 90 percent.

"A different take on Santa. He's buff. The reindeer are a bit larger than Clydesdale. Its fun. A cool explanation of how Santa completes his task every year. Unbelievable critics... WTH?!" one viewer commented.

As another added: "It’s predictable and cheesy at times, but that’s why it’s a great Christmas movie! A funny, heartwarming story that is a must watch at Christmas."

Someone else said: "Red One is a delightful holiday romp that delivers exactly what it promises: pure, unfiltered fun. Great Christmas movies don’t need to be profound - they just need to spread joy - and this one does just that.

"It’s a movie that kids and adults alike can enjoy together.

"The critics might miss the point here - Red One isn’t aiming to be anything other than a lighthearted, entertaining ride. And it succeeds brilliantly. If you’re looking for some festive cheer, this movie is a must-watch."
