The movie sees Efron play demanding film star Chris Cole, alongside Nicole Kidman who plays his love interest, Brooke Harwood.
Brooke has a daughter - 24-year-old Zara (Joey King) - who also happens to be Chris' assistant.
Naturally, things get pretty awkward after Zara finds them in bed together and begs her mum to end things.
After watching the film, some viewers took to social media where they questioned Efron's 'changing appearance'.

Meanwhile, others said they were 'distracted' over his face.
One person wrote: "Trying to watch #AFamilyAffair with #ZacEfron, but I’m way too distracted by whatever he did to his beautiful face."
While another questioned: "What happened to Zac Efron’s face? Did he get a bunch of filler? He looks 50 years up close."

And a third asked: "What did zac efron do to his face??"
Meanwhile a fourth commented: "Can’t be the only one who thinks Zac Efron looks weird with that face … couldn’t concentrate on the movie."
But many of Efron's fans were quick to remind viewers that he had actually been involved in a traumatic accident back in 2013, which resulted in him needing facial surgery.

One wrote: "It annoys me so much that people don't know zac efron was in like a serious accident and his face had to be put back together."
And another added: "Anytime I see comments about him it's making fun of his face for getting 'work done' LIKE PLEASEEE LEAVE MY MAN ALONE."
Efron has previously spoke about the surgery himself.
In 2022, he explained to Men's Health that he was 'running through his house in socks and slipped', which resulted in him hitting his chin on a granite fountain.

Following the incident, he said: "The masseters just grew. They just got really, really big."
The masseter muscles are located on each side of your jaw.
Efron explained it was his mum who first alerted him to rumours about plastic surgery.
However, the actor explained that he tries his best to keep off social media, adding that if he 'valued' what people said, he would struggle.
"If I valued what other people thought of me to the extent that they may think I do. I definitely wouldn't be able to do this work," Efron added.
