Chris Rock has criticised Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex sat down with the legendary TV host in 2021 to speak about their time as working royals.

Markle spoke about alleged concern amongst the senior royals over the colour of Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor's skin colour before his birth.
When discussing why Archie was not given a HRH title, Oprah asked if Markle believed her son’s race had any part to play in the decision.
"I can give you an honest answer,” Markle replied. “In those months when I was pregnant, all around the same time we have in tandem the conversation of he won't be given security, he won't be given a title, and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he was born."
Oprah was visibly astonished and when asked who was ‘having that conversation’, the Archetypes podcast host said Harry was the one who heard the comments.

“It was relayed to me from Harry,” she explained. “Those were conversations that family had with him."
"And you're not going to tell me who had the conversation?," the host asked.
"I think that would be very damaging to them," the Duchess replied.

Two years on and one Oscar slap later, Rock said during his live Netflix stand-up show that the former Suits actor won the ‘light-skinned lottery’ and seemingly lambasted her for not expecting the royal family to be ‘racist’.
He claimed that ‘even Black people want to know how brown’ her child would be.
During his two-and-a-half hour rant, the former Academy Awards presenter criticised those who portray themselves as victims.

“Seems like a nice lady, just complaining,” he said about Markle. “Like, didn’t she hit the light-skinned lottery?”
“’They're so racist, they're so racist,"' the 58-year-old mocked. “Some of that s*** she went through was not racism. It was just some in-law s***.
“Sometimes it's just some in-law s*** because she's complaining, I'm like ‘What the f*** is she talking about?’
“'Oprah, they're so racist they wanted to know how brown the baby was going to be’,” he quipped. “I'm like, ‘That's not racist, because even black people want to know how brown the baby going to be’.”

He continued: “I know what she's going through, I know what Meghan Markle's going through.
“I know her dilemma: Black girl trying to be accepted by her white in-laws. Oh it's hard. It's so hard, it's very hard but it ain't as hard as a white girl trying to be accepted by her black in-laws. Now that s*** is really hard.”
During the promotional tour for his controversial memoir Spare earlier this year, Prince Harry reaffirmed that the couple did not call the royal family ‘racist’ and claimed the word was used by the British tabloid press after the Oprah interview.
