David Beckham has made clear he'll be keeping a close eye on his young daughter's love life when she starts dating in the future.
The father celebrated the first wedding of his children this weekend, when 23-year-old Brooklyn married Nicola Peltz at the Peltz family's estate in Palm Beach, Florida.

Beckham shares four children with his wife, Victoria, including Brooklyn's brothers Cruz and Romeo and their daughter, Harper.
Years before Brooklyn and Nicola tied the knot, Beckham opened up about his son's dating life in an interview for The Late Late Show with James Corden, where he confirmed his then-16-year-old son was into the dating scene.
He recalled Brooklyn's first date at a restaurant when he was around 14 years old, and told Corden that Victoria had not only asked him to take Brooklyn to the restaurant, but to sit in the establishment while the date unfolded.
Beckham indicated he didn't want to crash the date, but said it was the only way Victoria was going to agree to let it go ahead.

He continued: "We took him to a small sushi restaurant, and he sat at the sushi bar and I sat about five tables back."
Given Beckham is one of the most famous people in the world Corden noted he could never really 'go incognito' somewhere, but thankfully he didn't seem to ruin Brooklyn's dating life entirely, evident in the fact he tied the knot just a few years later.
The pressure may be on for Harper, though, as Beckham went on to joke that he wasn't going to leave a five-table gap when his only daughter starts dating.
"By the way, my daughter is four years old, when she gets to that age I will be closer than that, so...," he said.

It's likely Beckham will at least still have a bit more time to get his head around the concept of his daughter going out on dates, if she starts venturing into the dating scene around the same age as her older brother. Whether he'll change his mind about his proximity to the occasion is a different matter, though.
Beckham described himself as a 'very proud dad' when Brooklyn married this weekend, and gave an emotional speech at the event in which he is said to have spoken about wanting to protect Brooklyn when he was born.
An insider told The Sun Beckham recalled 'sleeping on the hospital floor, holding the door shut because he didn’t want to let anyone get in'.

With three younger children, the dad will no doubt be continuing his role as a proud and protective parent for a long time to come.
