Have you ever noticed that some of the flags at Disney World and Disneyland Park aren't real?
Well, they're real in the fact that they're actual flags that can be viewed at the top of a mast 24/7, but in some instances Disney opts not to use real American flags.
Before you start worrying, there's no issue between the multi-billion dollar company and the world's most powerful nation, but instead, it's down to laws and regulations.

The issue is solely with its parks located in California and Florida.

In a video posted to TikTok, content creator Reeves Connelly, better known as reevcon on social media, revealed some little-known facts about Disney Parks in the US.
He asked: "Do you know why Disney uses fake American flags with the wrong number of stars and stripes?

"It's because they're required to lower real American flags at night, but the fake ones can stay up 24/7."
You probably haven't noticed this if you've visited any of the popular theme parks, but after a quick Google, you'll realise that it's a bit mind-boggling.
However, all you need to do is have a read of the US Flag Code.
Our mates across the pond, or 'dudes' should I say, have stricter laws around their flag and representation of their country's colours.

In case you're unfamiliar, the American flag features 13 red and white stripes to symbolise the 13 original colonies, and 50 white stars in a blue rectangle in the top corner, one for each of the states.
Some of the flags used at both of the US' Disney parks locations are missing a star or two, and this makes them unofficial, or 'fake'.
Therefore, they do not need to lower flags, and can leave them up all year round.

Another possible reason behind it could be the programmes that the parks have in place for veterans and their families, and how they may not want to be disrespectful.
The inauthentic flags then, can be considered props, and are not actual versions of The Star-Spangled Banner.
Social media users were shocked at this discovery, as one wrote on TikTok: "I’m not Disney crazy but I have so much respect for how much details they put into their parks."
Another wrote: "I love Disney World; no detail out of place, great staff, rides, food. It's just a magical experience. As soon as I can afford it, I am going back.

A third suggested: "Can't they use regular flags if they have a light on them? I'm pretty sure that's a thing."
There are other rules at parks too, such as the fact that pointing with one finger is banned as some cultures perceive it as rude, and that planes are not to fly above the theme parks.
