As if 2023 couldn’t get any more bizarre, Elon Musk has just responded to a parody tweet of himself on Twitter calling Mark Zuckerberg a lizard. (Yes, really).

The social media app’s CEO was replying to the parody account @ElonMuskAOC, which often goes viral for its weird posts mimicking the billionaire businessman.

In fact, the page recently went viral for the comment mocking Twitter’s rival app, Threads and its founder.

Posted on July 7, the weird post even referenced Musk’s real tweet about cage-fighting Mark Zuckerberg as it took aim at Meta’s co-founder.

"I spent $44 billion for this app and now Lizard boy just decided to hit copy and paste," it read, referring to Threads, which is set to be an alternative to Twitter.

An Elon Musk parody account poked fun at the 'feud' between the Twitter CEO and Mark Zuckerberg.

The tweet then continued, adding: "It's personal now. See you in the cage, Zuck."

Understandably, the post has gained a lot of attention with over 35.5 million views and 645,000 like since it was first shared on Friday.

It even caught the attention of Twitter’s CEO, with Musk responding to the parody account in the comments.

“So many people think this account is me,” the 52-year-old joked, with the Space X founder adding a side eye emoji as well.

As the post continues to take on a life of its own, more famous Twitter users have flocked to the now-viral tweet.

Elon himself responded to the jokes.

Responding to Musk’s comment, YouTuber MrBeast asked whether the app was in fact run by the Tesla founder – which he quickly denied.

Another user questioned why Musk had gone along with calling Zuckerberg a lizard, writing: "I love that you didn't dispute Zuck being a lizard boy."

The CEO then joked: "Maybe it's just a case of using too much moisturizer."

Continuing the joke, the parody account also replied: "Most likely the case, seems like that type."

In fact, @ElonMuskAOC took the joke one step further by sharing an image of Twitter’s iconic blue bird eating the Threads logo, which had been changed into a worm.

The caption continued the long-running joke and read: “There’s a reason why their logo is the way it is…I will smash you, Lizard Boy”.

Despite the parody account only having 385,000 followers, the image has received an insane 1002k likes less than 24 hours after it was uploaded.

Here’s hoping Mark Zuckerberg has a sense of humour about his endless teasing on Twitter.
