An actor who is always typecasted as 'Hector' - including in two Fast & Furious movies - has opened up on why this keeps happening to him.
Noel Gugliemi is an American actor, best known for his portrayal of California gangsters and has starred in the likes of Training Day, Street Kings and The Dark Knight Rises, to name a few.

He started his career at the age of 29, with his big break coming in The Fast and the Furious, where he played the character of 'Hector', who loved racing illegal cars.
In the film, Brian (Paul Walker) first met Hector the night he competed against Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) in their first race.
Hector approaches Brian after he parks and introduces himself, explaining that he's hoping to begin racing legally and legitimately in the NIRA circuit.

Ever since that film launched his career, it seems that name really decided to stick, and according to IMDb, he was called 'Hector' in ten different films/TV programmes, including Hope Cafe, Retail, Fresh of the Boat, GhettoBusters and The Cleaner.
The strange coincidence was recently pointed out in a viral Instagram post, with one user writing: "He’s so good at being Hector he doesn’t need to be anyone else."
Another quipped: "No one can do hector better than him."
Others joked we need a 'Hectorverse' or a 'Hector Cinematic Universe'.

We've never really known why Gugliemi always plays a Hector, until recently.
Last month, the actor - who also works as a motivational speaker for Christians - finally revealed all in an interview with Power 106 Los Angeles.
Gugliemi explained: "You know it started off by coincidence.

"I always tell people in Hollywood they only know two names for Latino actors which is 'Hector' and 'Carlos'.
"Every script I would ever get, it would always be 'Hector' or 'Carlos' like 90 percent of the time.
"So it started off as a coincidence. It's not like I was calling my manager, 'If I'm not Hector I'm not doing a movie'."

He continued: "So it started off as a coincidence thing, but as it started happening so much I said, 'Let's just ride this wave out'.
"So now wherever I got the power to switch [the name] or keep it, I'm like let's just keep it 'Hector' and keep it going now."
Although Gugliemi often plays gangsters, he now spends a lot of time encouraging young people to not get involved with gangs.
