Have you recently watched the number one fanfic movie on Amazon Prime?
Well, if not, you need to get on the bandwagon like all the other romance-lovers because it’s amazing.
The Idea of You is the hottest thing to drop out of Amazon Prime in 2024, but there’s something they didn’t mention to fans…

It was actually supposed to be even more racy than you saw.
So, it turns out that there were more sex scenes in the original cut than what ended up going to the public.
Those who read Robinne Lee's The Idea of You book in 2017, you’ll know that there were a lot of explicit portions in the book to fangirl over.
However, fans were sorely shocked when they realised that two scenes in particular didn’t make the cut.

Prime's film adaptation with the beautiful Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine is a little different.
Particularly the ending.
But it’s the lack of sex that’s got people talking.
That, and the type of sex.

If you didn’t know, the book is major graphic about their intimacy, and it’s one of the things that showed the chemistry between the couple.
The movie? A little PG I must say.
Okay, so they kept the scene where Hayes makes Solène orgasm while she's still fully clothed, but they completely missed out Hayes giving her oral and the best time ever.

I know it’s not Fifty Shades of Gray, but it’s a good depiction of an age-gap couple entering that honeymoon phase of their relationship and fooling around whenever and wherever they can.
There was also a scene where Hayes and Solène have unprotected sex for the first time on a kitchen table, which wasn’t in the film.
It’s yet to be revealed why the creators decided to cut those scenes from the movie but it could be down to film ratings, run time or anything else which could have an affect on the project.
Maybe the actors didn’t want to? Who knows!

Anne Hathaway did, however, come out to say that incorporating the book and its scenes was important to her and to the movie.
She said to Variety: "In the book, Robinne describes intimate acts with the most unbelievable energy. In their first physical sexual connection, Hayes brings Solène to orgasm while [she is fully] clothed."
She added: "That became our North Star in terms of expressing cinematic sex in a way that makes it about her pleasure, while also making the point that a huge part of pleasure is giving someone else pleasure."
Maybe we’ll find out if there’s a part 2 and then they can whack in those scenes again.
