Brad Pitt was paid a surprising amount for a cameo in the Deadpool sequel that fans might have missed

Brad Pitt had a two-second cameo in a Deadpool film, and was paid a surprising amount for his flash appearance.

The 60-year-old Hollywood legend is known in the industry as 'the hardest get in Hollywood', but still made an appearance in the popular R-rated Marvel franchise.

Pitt surprised audiences back in 2018 as he appeared in the Deadpool sequel, which starred the likes of Ryan Reynolds and Josh Brolin.

In the film, Pitt plays a mutant called The Vanisher, who is invisible for the whole movie apart from a couple of seconds, where the character is revealed to be played by the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood actor.

The character doesn't speak or appear on-screen throughout the film as he's invisible and quite shy.

A true A-list celebrity, Pitt has the luxury of choosing the roles he wants to do, and the producers behind Deadpool 2 were aware of this when they chose to offer him a role in the blockbuster film.

Reynolds then pulled his A-list strings to get in touch with Pitt, in an attempt to get one of the most famous faces in the industry to appear for a couple of seconds in his upcoming film.

Deadpool 2 co-writer Rhett Reese asked Reynolds after the film was released: "Brad Pitt said he'd do it if Ryan personally delivered a cup of coffee from Starbucks, right?"

"Sort of embellished. I was told all he wants is a cup of coffee and I said, 'Like a franchise or just one individual cup of coffee?' And I was told one individual cup of coffee, which was really his way of saying, 'I'm doing it for nothing.' And it was a total solid and the nicest thing anyone could do," Reynolds replied.

The actor behind Deadpool added: "I just loved it, because what's more irresponsible than taking one of the biggest movie stars in the world and giving him a role that is utterly wordless and invisible with an exception of three frames of film? Yeah that's kind of amazing."

Screenwriters were convinced that they would have needed to do some major convincing to get the star on board, but it turns out that Pitt accepted the role almost immediately due to one reason.

He admitted that his kids were fans of the first film, and that he was more than happy to do whatever they wanted, as long as his scheduled allowed for it.

Though he may not have appeared in the third instalment of the franchise, Deadpool & Wolverine is now showing in cinemas.
