Chris Kyle's son revealed his biggest critique of American Sniper on social media.
Colton Kyle is the teenage son of the man, played by Bradley Cooper in the 2014 biographical war film, known as the American Sniper, becoming the deadliest marksman in US military history.
Since his father's death in 2013 he, along with his sister, largely stayed silent on social media platforms until April this year, when the pair conducted an interview discussing their late war-hero father.
The film itself performed impressively critically and at the box office, winning the Oscar for Best Sound Editing among other awards following its release.

But as with every biographical film, there are a number of fictitious elements in the plot, usually done for dramatic effect or to improve the overall plot, with American Sniper being no different.
Colton shares stories of his father and answers questions from fans on his TikTok account, and recently made a video to explain his two critiques of the movie to his 282,000+ followers.
He revealed that he watched the Clint Eastwood directed film for the first time at Bradley Cooper's house in New York, who he called an 'awesome guy', while saying that he 'absolutely loved it'.
But that was only four years ago, as he didn't feel the need to watch it growing up as he could 'ask his Mom' if he had any questions.

Colton said that one of his biggest critiques was to do with his father's choice to leave the service.
He started the point by saying Sienna Miller did an 'awesome job', but didn't look close to his mum like Cooper did as his dad in the role.
"It was a little more nuanced, the situation with him getting out of the service feeling like he had an ultimatum," he began to explain.

"I think ultimately he had to feel he had an ultimatum, rather than my Mum actually presenting one."
"For him to leave people, saving lives, to [then] come home, for him to be able to do something like that, he would have to feel like he didn't have a choice rather than him making the choice to leave his men behind and stop serving," Colton said.
"It's a very difficult choice to try and make. That was what he had to feel, and my Mum said 'listen, this is tough for us and we're struggling', and so I think he kind of internalised it that way," he revealed.

Colton acknowledge that it would be easier to portray in a film and to explain that dynamic.
The other critique he had about the film is that the audience didn't get to see how Kyle was at home as a father.
Colton said there was the scene at the end which 'alluded to it', as he was 'incredibly loving' and 'incredibly joyful' with them.

"He loved to play pranks and he was very good at separating work from home life," the teenager explained.
He then recalled the heart-warming memory of jumping into his father's arms after he got back from work as a further sign of his father's great connection to Colton and his sister, which he said was the 'highlight' of his dad's day, according to his mother.
