A fan of the movie Hereditary has said they reckon they've cracked a 'mystery' that had puzzled them ever since they watched it.
The movie is a 2018 horror flick directed by Ari Aster and starring Toni Collette as an artist dealing with a death in the family, and the plethora of terrifying weirdness that follows because it's that sort of movie.
Check out the trailer:
A study once declared that Hereditary was the scariest movie of all time after over 2,500 die-hard horror fans were asked to pick their top films and an audience was put through the top picks with their heart rates monitored.

Those who saw it said they were left with sleepless nights after witnessing the horrors contained within the movie.
However, one fan channelled what they saw on the screen into a dedication into sleuthing out a 'mystery' that had bugged them for ages.
It is at this point, dear reader, that I must inform you I am not a certified expert in demonology.

My time playing Dungeons and Dragons has given me a passing knowledge of some of the different types of demons which have sprung up in mythology over the years and reached popular culture via osmosis, but I cannot claim to be any sort of expert.
So when Redditor u/beithyra says they've solved some sort of mystery about the depiction of a very important demon in Hereditary I've pretty much got to take their word for it.
They explained that in the movie the main demonic antagonist is Paimon, and a depiction of him in a book left them 'puzzled' for the longest time.
Basically, in the movie they look up Paimon in a book and he's a dude wearing black robes, wielding a staff and riding a camel.

Only apparently this doesn't chime with other depictions of the demon, and the Redditor reckons they know the answer.
They pointed out another drawing where Paimon is being summoned by someone wearing robes and wielding a staff who looks a bit like Paimon does in Hereditary.
Essentially, it's possible that the director of the movie mixed the two up and took his appearance of the demon from a drawing of someone summoning it, and believe me I'm just as confused as you as to what all this means.

Then again, one would hope that demons aren't actually real and all of these drawings and depictions are just spooky stories to scare people with.
It certainly worked when they did it with Hereditary.
