Directed by Guy Ritchie, starring Henry Cavill, and featuring a bunch of WW2 soldiers brutally killing Nazis.

What more could you want?

In a week with Deadpool & Wolverine in cinemas, Cobra Kai on Netflix, Longlegs and Twisters still kicking about, you might think you had all the film and TV you needed to watch.

But if the opportunity comes to see Prime Video's Reacher star Alan Ritchson kill a Nazi with a bow and arrow - you can’t not take it.

And that’s exactly what you can do with a film also starring Cavill which was added to Prime Video.

Ritchie has been going strong recently, with The Gentlemen doing huge numbers on Netflix, and The Covenant coming out only last year.

However, this 2024 film is The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, and it’s based on a true story of a group of top-secret soldiers, who used deeply unconventional methods to take down Nazis.

Also joining Cavill and Ritchson in the cast is Eiza Gonzalez, Alex Pettfyer, Henry Golding, and Hero Fiennes Tiffin.

As well as this, Cary Elwes and Babs Olusanmokun round out the cast.

The film was well received upon release, and is now finally on streaming in the UK.

It was also a reasonable hit with critics, and received 70 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

David Fear of Rolling Stone said of the film: “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare does nail the rip-roaring flavour of yesteryear's do-or-die romps.”

While Emily Zemler of the Observer said in their three out of four-star review: “The cast, especially Ritchson, chews the scenery and spits it out with great fervour.

“It's violent, stylish and presented with flair while showcasing a lesser-known tale from the war that was only declassified recently.”

The film released in cinemas back in April, but has only just made it to streaming via Prime Video.

This will be music to the ears of fans, who predominantly all thought the movie was a great fun romp.

One review on IMDb said: “Ungentlemanly Warfare looked to be a good time, and indeed it is!

"It's a neat story and they made the telling of it fun.

“Thankfully it isn't goofy. It's not nonstop jokes, but it has a good sense of humour and I heard a good bit of chuckling in the theatre throughout the movie, much of it coming from myself.

“Action-comedies seem to be Guy Ritchie's specialty. He maintains a good balance of action and comedy and works so well with large casts as he lets every character feel like they matter to the story.”

While another simply said of the movie: “The only good Nazi is a dead Nazi. And this movie has plenty of dead Nazis. Would normally be a 3.5 but I give it an extra half point for gratuitous Nazi killing.”

A-f**king-right.
