Kate Winslet didn't walk away from that notorious sex scene with Patrick Wilson unscathed, according to her co-star.
The pair memorably got hot and heavy in a laundry room while appearing alongside one another in Little Children - and Winslet was left with 'lots of bruises' as a result.
The sacrifices these stars make for the sake of entertainment, eh?

Take a look at the trailer for Little Children here:
The 2006 flick, which is based on Tom Perrotta's 2004 novel of the same name, tells the story of an unhappy housewife named Sarah Pierce (Winslet). She ends up having an affair with her married neighbour Brad Adamson (Wilson) after they strike up a friendship while taking their kids to the same park.
But what has stuck in the mind of viewers all these years is the mental image of them both bonking on top of a washing machine, rather than them betraying their respective spouses.

At one point, Sarah and Brad take their children to a public pool, but their day of fun in the water is soon rained off, so the pair head back to Sarah's house.
After putting the kids to bed, Sarah is drying towels in her basement when Brad bounds into the laundry room, and the pair finally act on their mutual attraction.
This made for quite the steamy scene in Little Children - and according to Wilson, women still get 'flustered' when they see him in public and realise 'why they remember him'.

He told The Hollywood Reporter: "It got to a point where where I could just say, ‘Are you thinking about the laundry room scene right now?'"
The Insidious star, 51, explained that the movie was shot long before intimacy coordinators became a crucial part of the film crew.
Both he and Winslet were completely starkers during the sex scene, although they were each sporting modesty coverings which were carefully hidden in the shots, and they didn't rely on body doubles either.
Before they filmed it, Wilson explained that his wife, actress Dagmara Dominczyk, organised a dinner with the Titanic actress, 49, and her then-husband, director Sam Mendes.

"Just to be like, all right, we’re about to start this movie together," he said of his wife's motivations behind the meeting. "We’re going to be very into it. So it kind of levelled the playing field.
"You could make tons of jokes, but I think we knew the drill."
The Virginia-born actor said he and Winslet were both 'very specific' when it came to filming the intimate scene, before he heaped praise on his co-star for how she handled it all.

He continued: "[Winslet] was so cool and gracious and just a gamer - just like, ‘Let’s go for it'. There was never one awkward or weird moment. Never one. I loved it."
Those who have seen Little Children will know that the actors took part in some extremely vigorous lovemaking in the film, which sparked rumours that Winslet had bruised her bum while shooting it.
Clarifying whether she sustained any war wounds, Wilson said: "I’m sure there were lots of bruises. Put it this way: I haven’t done a scene like that since post-#MeToo and intimacy coordinators.
"I do feel a little bit like a dinosaur when it comes to [having appeared in] those kind of love scenes."
Winslet herself also addressed rumours that she bruises like a peach shortly after Little Children was released in 2006.
Explaining that she and Wilson had been 'fully clothed' while they rehearsed the scene, she said: "We just got a general shape of the scene so we knew what to expect. We did look out for each other and we laughed a hell of a lot.
"It sounds ridiculous, but at a certain point you forget that you’re naked with a relative stranger...my hips and backside really hurt the next day."
So there you have it people - you're cruising for a bruising if you're planning on having sex on top of a washing machine.
