Netflix fans have been going crazy for its latest hair-raising offering Evil Dead Rise , but it's the creepy flick's opening scene that really seems to have viewers hooked.
The horror film has been hitting the headlines in recent days as many people watch it for the first time thanks to its release on Netflix on Thursday (21 September).
The film was actually in cinemas back in April this year, and has since been praised by film buffs as one of the best horror films of 2023 so far.

Evil Dead Rise follows a family who find a strange book hidden away under their apartment building in Los Angeles, California.
An official synopsis teases: “Moving the action out of the woods and into the city, Evil Dead Rise tells a twisted tale of two estranged sisters, played by Sutherland and Sullivan, whose reunion is cut short by the rise of flesh-possessing demons, thrusting them into a primal battle for survival as they face the most nightmarish version of family imaginable.”
The film is certified 'Fresh' on Rotten Tomatoes with an 84 percent rating on the Tomatometer, while it also received a respectable 76 percent audience score.

While the film's creators would hope fans would be talking about the project as a whole, they will surely be delighted with the fact fans are talking so much about a ten-second sequence in the movie.
Just a disclaimer, small spoilers for Evil Dead Rise lie ahead...
The Lee Cronin-directed film begins with a rather shaky tracking shot of a woman under the backdrop of a bright, warm sunlight - in what is an obvious nod to Sam Raimi’s The Evil Dead (1981).

However, the beginning of that classic film had a darker feel thanks to gloomy weather to scare the cr*p out of you.
That isn't needed for Evil Dead Rise though, with many praising it for its creepiness despite its rather light opening scene.
In recent months, fans have flocked to X (yep, that app previously known as Twitter), to praise the opening sequence of the horror film - including those who didn't even like the film as a whole.
"The title credit scene in Evil Dead Rises gives me chills every single time," one person wrote.

A second added: "Evil Dead Rises was so meh. 10/10 opening credit scene tho!"
While a third remarked: "The opening scene from evil dead rises has me dying."
As well as the opening sequence, a particularly grim scene in the film is also gaining attention online, with Netflix fans saying it left them feeling sick after watching.
You can stream Evil Dead Rise on Netflix now... if you can stomach it.
