Much like the superheroes we know they are, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost may soon step up in our hour of need, after the latter suggested they could reunite in another Edgar Wright film.
If you aren't familiar with 'The Cornetto Trilogy', so-called because of the passing references to the ice cream cones in each of the three films, then you need to spend your weekend catching up.
Featuring Shaun of the Dead (2004), Hot Fuzz (2007) and The World's End (2013), the trilogy sees Frost and Pegg team up to either defend the world from zombies, aliens or a cult in Sandford, Gloucestershire.

A super fan of the films even teamed up with the ice cream brand in the desperate hope of bringing them back for another rodeo back in 2023, and maybe, just maybe, it worked. [Some] luck catching them swans then.
Frost, who is also rumoured to be playing Hagrid in the upcoming Harry Potter series on HBO, has hinted that the trio will 'definitely' reunite for another project in the future.

In an interview with The iPaper back in January, he said: “Our films are about how male friendships evolve as men get older. I think me and Simon [Pegg] and Edgar [Wright] will definitely do something else at some point. Even if we’re 60, it’s like, so how are these 60-year-old friends now? What’s their relationship like? And our audience will be 60 as well. We’ve all grown up together.”
It seems as if the duo certainly enjoy keeping fans on their toes, as back in 2022, the actors both teased a sequel to The World's End on Instagram.

Pegg penned: "Hard to believe it’s nine years since we were shooting The World’s End. Hey @friedgold and @edgarwright, it’s about time we assembled again, isn’t it?”
Frost commented: “Hell yeah!!! (I’m free from September!)” Wright also chipped in on the post, joking: “New number. Who dis?”

Back in July 2024, Pegg also teased that he wanted to get the band back together to make a fourth Cornetto film, saying: “It really is a question of when, not if.”
Wright, who has also been the director behind popular films such as Baby Driver and Scott Pilgrim vs The World (an underrated classic), hasn't committed yet, but if his favourite duo are up for it, then maybe the filmmaker will be too.

However, given that Frost is 53 and Pegg is 55, we may have a few years to wait before they're willing to portray 60-year-old's in a fourth instalment of the beloved films.
