A horror film has been branded genuinely ‘cursed’ after two cast members passed away following its release.
It’s not uncommon for horror movies to have plot twists and curses as part of the storyline, but when they prove to exist outside of the film, that’s when things start to get slightly creepy.
The film, deemed ‘cursed’, in question is called Poltergeist, which was released in 1982, ironically following the story of a family whose daughter is cursed by an evil spirit.

The family move into what they believe is their dream home, but quickly realise it’s their worst nightmare after their five-year-old daughter becomes possessed through the TV, and starts tormenting them.
But following the film's release in the early 80s, including the rest of the trilogy - Poltergeist II in 1986 and Poltergeist III in 1988 - it seems as though the curse followed through into real life.
Julian Beck, who played the evil priest called Kane in Poltergeist II, was diagnosed with stomach cancer in 1983.

He died before the film was released, as a result of the disease, shortly after he completed his time in the film, at just 60 years old.
Also featuring in the second film was Will Sampson, who played the shaman called Tyler.
He received a poor prognosis and died after filming Poltergeist II, as a result of a heart-lung transplant that he didn’t make through.
Fans of the film have questioned over the years whether it really is a real-life curse.

One said: “I’ve been studying the Poltergeist movie curse.
“It’s truly deep and crazy.”
Another claimed: “The whole set was cursed.

“Some of the cast died.
“Weird things happened during production.”
And it wasn’t just these two cast members that died following the feature in the films.
Two other actors also died, including Dominique Dunne and Heather O’Rourke.

Dunne’s death was one of the most twisted out of the four, after playing one of the lead roles of Dana Freeling in the first film, and passing away in the same year.
She died at the hands of her ex-boyfriend, who strangled her after she refused to date him again following their relationship.
O’Rourke, who played Dunn’s little sister in the film, Carole Anne Freeling, died at the age of 12 due to an unexpected medical condition.
Despite the tragic deaths most probably being a coincidence in connection with the film, it’s still spooky that so many cast members from one horror film could die in one decade, right?
