It’s inevitable – when your favourite children’s TV show makes it’s way to the public domain – someone is going to make a horror film about it.
That is what happened with Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, which ended up receiving a 3 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes and an audience score of just 50 percent.
This is where the sequel film, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2, shockingly comes in.

The shocking detail? It’s actually really good.
The series has completely turned around it’s Rotten Tomatoes score, going from 3 percent for the original to a whopping 89 percent for the sequel at the time of writing.
This event is an incredibly rare score for a low-budget horror movie like this one – where the adage is that a mediocre critic score and a high audience score are the best you can expect.

To put into context the shock of this score, some of the most iconic horror films ever have been blown out the water by Blood and Honey 2.
The original Saw? 50 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
The original Scream? 81 percent.
Even the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre – a classic of the genre – was only able to match Blood and Honey 2’s 89 percent - not beat it.

And critics have been raving about the film which is set to ruin any love of Winnie the Pooh you had from your childhood.
Luke Thompson of The AV Club said of the sequel: “This is cinema at its most punk rock—a raucous, unpolished, cheap, sacred-cow shredding middle finger to the mainstream with just enough raw talent inside to keep it from being dismissable.
“Every generation needs its disreputable schlocketeers, and if they rise to bigger opportunities, we all win. Winnie The Pooh: Blood And Honey 2 should relish the boos, and eschew positive notices, as all punk ought. It gets a qualified thumbs up here, anyway.”

While Molly Henery of The Blogging Banshee was shocked by the uptick in quality.
She said: "When I first heard about Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2, I initially brushed it off as just another cheesy b-horror movie sequel.
"This time, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 has a complex, interesting, and at times even touching story, but still with the outrageous kills horror fans will expect.

"[The creators] made a sequel that surpasses its predecessor in almost every way, especially in terms of plot and lore. They also created something that honors the first installment of this new franchise, but can also act as a standalone film."
Posting on the subreddit r/horror, one poster said: “Take my review with a grain of salt because I ADORE cheesey slashers and this movie has everything I look for in a cheap gorey fun time.
“Dozens upon dozens of outrageous kills, meta-humor and a solid performance from the lead. Scott Chambers as Christopher Robin really steals the show here and has a gnarly scream.
“A tremendous increase in quality from the first film. I had a blast seeing it in the theatre.”
The sequel follows Christopher Robin once again being terrorised by the now monstrous versions of the Winnie the Pooh characters.
The monsters decide to take revenge in the sequel after having their identities revealed by Robin in the first film.
If you ask me – anything involving my childhood heroes being turned into murder machines is a no – but an 89 percent Rotten Tomatoes score is hard to ignore!
