Rap legend Flavor Flav has admitted to spending over $2,600 (£2,400) a day on crack cocaine during the height of his addiction.
The 63-year-old, who first burst onto the scene in the 1980s, is arguably best known for co-founding legendary hip-hop group Public Enemy.
But Flav, whose real name is William Jonathan Drayton Jr., has battled drug addiction for many years.

And now, in a recent podcast interview, Flav has been very open about his years of struggles and the staggering amount he used to spend on crack cocaine each day.

Speaking on Spotify’s Off the Record with DJ Akademiks, Flav said: "I kinda kept it hidden. A lot of people, you know, didn’t really know.
"They were trying to figure it out [like], ‘Yo, is he on something?’ and the whole nine. Because I never really let people know exactly what I was doing.

"I started letting people know what I was doing when I was getting tired of being like that.
"There’s a point and time in life where you get tired of doing s**t. Mainly when it doesn’t get you no place."
He continued: "There was a time that I was spending $2,400 to $2,600 a day for six years straight. You do the math.
"That's how much I spent on drugs. I ain't gonna lie, I sold a lot. But I was my best customer.

"I had a lot of money at the time too. I was just doing the wrong things with my money."

Back in October 2022, Flav celebrated being two years sober and he took to his Instagram to discuss how he was feeling.
He said: "Guess what? I am two years no cigarettes, two years no alcohol. You know what? I feel real good, y'all, just to let you know."

"And you know what? I'm gonna do this another maybe 22 more years. I don't know. But right now, I'm working on one year at a time, folks."
Earlier today (31 January), Flav took to Twitter to talk about his sobriety journey.
He said: "Ya boy is always honest with who he was,,, and my sobriety has been a journey,,, but I’m here takin accountability
"And tryin to make sure y’all don’t make the same mistakes I did."
