The era of GTA 6 is almost here, with fans begging for a release date after Take-Two Interactive reconfirmed it is going to be released later this year.
We've no date as it stands, only a period with the fall/autumn earmarked by bosses at Take-Two and developer Rockstar for the releases to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Fans think they've narrowed down this window due to the release of another Take-Two game that, they say, puts September off of the table.

PC fans have had hope, with one gaming insider saying we should get a port to computer after just months, rather than years as we saw with GTA 5.

Despite all of this positivity in recent weeks, gamers are still desperate for that release date. It's understandable, given how much people love the franchise.
But over on Reddit, one fan has urged calm for one very particular reason.
"Something you have to keep in mind when wondering why GTA 6 is taking so long," one fan posted in the r/GTA6 subreddit.

This was alongside trivia relating to one of Rockstar's previous creations, Red Dead Redemption 2.
Arguably the greatest video game of all time (fight me), RDR2 was delayed on three occasions before it was finally released to the public.
Saying it needed extra time to 'polish' the game, it went on to win numerous accolades, winning more than 175 gongs around the world. And part of that was because of the effort included in creating the finished product.

As highlighted in the Reddit post, the game was developed for more than eight years.
All in all, it had 700 voice actors, 300,000 animations, 500,000 lines of dialogue, 1,000 software developers, and 500 motion-capture actors. That's a lot of resource and time needed to create what is deemed to be a perfect game and piece of storytelling.

Responding to the post, one Redditor said: "Been replaying RDR2 and yeah, the more you play that game the more you realise how detailed GTA 6 will most likely be."

A second user posted: "Rockstar is no copy and paste sports game you get from other companies every year. Pre-production and active development for such games takes time, especially when you have to deal with a pandemic in between."
And a third wrote: "I think majority of people stopped wondering why GTA 6 took so long a while ago, they’re now wondering why trailer two takes so long."

On the lack of another trailer, another responded: "At this point, GTA 6 will have enough content to make another trailer. They just don't want have to deal with the media hype until it's time to promote."

And a fifth wrote: "We don't need a trailer. We need a release date. It's going to sell regardless [of a second trailer]."
GTA 6 is set to be released in the autumn of 2025.
