Video game fans eagerly waiting for the arrival of GTA 6 are holding their breath as a major announcement is set to be made by the company making the product.
After an end to 2024 where fans were convinced a second GTA 6 trailer was being released, absolutely nothing was released by Rockstar or its parent company, Take-Two Interactive.
It means it has now been well over a year since the first trailer dropped in December 2023. And since that moment, we've had nothing else from Rockstar or Take-Two on what we can expect.
That is apart from a tiny update on the release date, with Take-Two last year confirmed its 2025 release plans were still in place for the game.

In the autumn of 2024, it gave a company update in which the business confirmed a GTA 6 release was still on the cards for autumn 2025.
Now, all eyes are on February where Take-Two could finally reaffirm its 2025 plans.
Or failing that, hint at the chance of a dreaded delay to 2026.

February will see Take-Two release its next earnings report with this taking place on 6 February.
Many within the gaming industry expect an update on GTA 6 within this, given how much money has been spent on the game and how much is going to be earned from the sale of it, with it widely expected to be the best selling game of all time.
Others in the gaming industry are also wanting more information, with some having major problems when it comes to a GTA 6 release date.
Last year's autumn update confirming the 2025 release was also an earnings report, meaning there is logic in connecting the dots.

Now, in a series of posts, the popular GTA 6 Countdown account over on X (formerly Twitter) has explained why this meeting will be a big moment for the 2025 timeline.
"Take-Two has officially scheduled the next earnings call for February 6," the account wrote.
"The ball is now in Rockstar’s court to announce a release date for GTA 6 in the coming weeks. Otherwise a delay to 2026 will most likely be the case."
It added: "Here’s why February’s earnings call is very important. It’s the first earnings call of the year the game is officially scheduled to launch in.

"Rockstar only confirms an exact release date when they’re 100 percent certain about it.
"A general timeframe like ‘Fall 2025’ would mean they’re still not confident, which leaves room for a possible a delay.
"GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 release dates were both confirmed before February’s earnings call."
A delay would be a sucker punch to those waiting to play the game later this year. All we can do is wait and see.
