Harry Potter fans have been left baffled after a scene from The Chamber of Secrets resurfaced.
Fancy yourself a Harry Potter super fan? So do many. That is until they come across lesser-known deleted scenes and footage that never quite made it into the final film cuts.
After the release of Hogwarts Legacy earlier this year - the video game based on the beloved franchise - Potterheads across the globe have been revisiting the books and films.

However, it’s becoming more frequent for deleted material from the early 2000s franchise to pop up across social media.
And now, one of these scenes has resurfaced online and it appears to have been almost directly lifted from J. K Rowling’s book.
The scene shared via TikTok is from the 2002 film Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and takes place just after Harry used Parseltongue - the ability to speak to snakes - for the first time in front of his classmates.

The resurfaced moment opens with a shot of Harry outside wearing his Gryffindor robes, scarf and a pair of gloves. Harry rhetorically asks his snowy owl: “Who am I, Hedwig? What am I?”
Then, the scene cuts to a hostile classroom environment, where everyone in the room believes that Harry is the heir of Slytherin and responsible for the 'petrified' students being found around the school.
However, the scene differs from the original film when Harry leaves the classroom. Through the window, book character Ernie Macmillian can be seen telling his fellow Hufflepuffs that he’s 'told Justin to hide in our dormitory'.
“If Potter has marked him down as his next victim, it’s best he keeps a low profile for a while," the Hufflepuff says.

When questioned why Harry would want to attack another student, Mcmillan then says: “Justin let it slip to Potter that he was a Muggle-born.”
As the scene doesn’t feature in the original The Chamber of Secrets movie, fans in the comments of the video have been losing their minds.
“Where are all these deleted scenes coming from all of the sudden? I swear I haven’t seen any of these specific ones at all in 22 years,” wrote one fan.

Another said, “I have watched every movie like 20 times and don’t remember this but lately noticed this happening with a lot of shows.”
However, a third commenter helpfully let fans in on how they can discover more unearthed Harry Potter scenes.
“Peacock has the extended versions of all the movies and I’m LIVING for them,” they wrote.
And as it turns out, there's a lot more deleted scenes out there for us to sink our teeth into.

For instance, in one scene from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005), Hogwarts potions master Severus Snape can be seen tolerating no nonsense by deducting points from a pair of canoodling students at the Yule Ball.
But this doesn't really come as much of a surprise, does it?
