Today marks the 14th anniversary of Heath Ledger's death with fans across the globe mourning the actor to this day.
The 28-year-old passed away from an accidental overdose of prescription painkillers and had been very open about his struggles with insomnia and switching his brain off at night.
Despite this though, his sister Kate remembered a conversation she had with him the night before he died.
Speaking to news.com.au, the Perth-based publicist said: "He was a really happy person and he had huge plans for his future. I spoke to him the night before and we were laughing and joking."
Dispelling rumours that his role in The Dark Knight contributed to how he was feeling and ultimately caused his death, she went on to add: "He was so proud of what he had done in Batman. And I know he had plans for another Batman. He loved working with Chris Nolan and Christian Bale and Gary Oldman. He just had the best time ever doing that film.
"When he came home at Christmas he couldn't wait to tell us all about it and he was doing the voice and laughing, showing me all the rushes. We had a great time."
When Heath passed away his daughter Matilda - who he shared with ex partner, Michelle Williams - was just two but Kate has spoken about how the family is very much still in his child's life.
During an interview with WHO four years ago, she said: "We keep in constant contact with Michelle and Matilda and visit frequently. She is an amazing girl and a source of delight to us all.
“Heath is hugely important in the lives of my children. There’s not a day that goes by that we don’t share stories or talk about him. He is very much alive in our house.”
