A man has been getting a bit of s*** because he only just figured out that the Indiana Jones and Star Wars films have a load in common, and even might exist in the same sort of fictional universe.
Obviously, we’re dealing with two of the biggest film series of all time here, so you might agree with those who think he should have known, but if you weren’t a big fan of either – or a general film buff – would you really know?
There are a number of Easter eggs hidden away in the Indiana Jones films that hint to a shared world with Star Wars, as well as some nice little details that pay homage to George Lucas’ cinematic space world.

Anyway, this was all news to TikToker Ivan Mars, who released a video captioned: “Wait!! This is Crazy! [sic]”
In the video, it reads: “It took me 40 years to realise Indiana Jones and Star Wars are connected.”
He then goes on to explain some of the things that link the two blockbusters.

So, we’ll take you through some.
In Raiders of the Lost Ark, there’s a plane that is called OB-CPO, a reference to both Obi-Wan Kenobi and robot C-3PO, perhaps?
Then, there’s a bit in the Well of Souls where Indy lifts out the Ark of the Covenant.
If you look, you’ll notice to his left that there are hieroglyphs that look like C-3PO and his robot buddy R2D2.

In Temple of Doom there’s a bar that is called ‘Club Obi-Wan’ after the famous Star Wars character.
It goes both ways, too.
In the standalone Han Solo movie within the Star Wars universe, there’s an idol that can also be seen in Indiana Jones.

This leads the TikTok user to conclude that maybe ‘Indiana Jones is the dream of Han Solo while frozen in carbonite?’
Well, it’s a big universe, anything is possible.
It’s more likely that it’s just because directors George Lucas is involved in both movies, and Harrison Ford is one of the main characters in both sagas.
Famously, Lucas and Spielberg spent time in Hawaii and worked together on the Indiana Jones films after a discussion there.

The rest is history.
However, some couldn’t believe that the TikTok star was only just discovering this, with one remarking: “Yeah, you’re way behind on this one.”
Another said: “Everyone knew this already.”
A third simply wrote: “Well duh.”
Either way, whether it’s new on you or not, you have to admit that it’s pretty cool that two of the biggest film series of all time are linked together somehow, and not just because they’ve got some of the same actors and the same creator.
