Following the tragic news that Jamal Edwards has died at the age of just 31, fans of the music mogul want to find out who his mother is.

Jamal Edwards’ mum was Brenda Edwards, who is a 52-year-old English singer, actress, and television personality.

The singer placed in fourth on ITV’s The X Factor in 2005, and is also a regular panellist on Loose Women, where she joins the likes of Coleen Nolan and Stacey Solomon.
She is also a presenter on BBC One’s Songs of Praise, having presented the show since January 2021.
Brenda has spoken out since the news of her son’s death.
The mum of the 31-year-old has now released a statement, which was read out by Susanna Reid on Good Morning Britain.

Her statement read:"It is with the deepest heartache that I confirm that my beautiful son Jamal Edwards passed away yesterday (20 February) after a sudden illness.
"Myself, his sister Tanisha and the rest of his family and friends are completely devastated. He was the centre of our world.
"As we come to terms with his passing we ask for privacy to grieve this unimaginable loss.
"I would like to thank everyone for their messages of love and support.

"Jamal was an inspiration to myself and so many. Our love for him lives on, his legacy lives on.
"Long live Jamal Edwards MBE, MBA, PHD."
