Jason Momoa has let his feeling known about one movie in his filmography.

The Aquaman star recently sat down with GQ to reveal that 2011’s Conan the Barbarian was extremely underwhelming despite his positive experience making the blockbuster.

He told the outlet: “I’ve been a part of a lot of things that really sucked, and movies where it’s out of your hands.

“Conan [the Barbarian] was one of them. It’s one of the best experiences I had and it [was] taken over and turned into a big pile of s**t.”

Conan the Barbarian starred the A-lister in the titular role as a mighty Cimmerian warrior who leads a path of bloodshed driven by his own personal vendetta of bringing his wife back from the dead.

It ultimately turns into an epic battle where Conan is forced to face off with his mortal enemy, Khalar Zym, who was played by Stephen Lang.

While this plot sounds somewhat juicy, it was a big box office flop as it only earned $63.5 million (AUD $89.75m or £52.02m) despite having a $90 million (AUD $127m or £73.7m) budget.

And, as you guessed, the film was also poorly received.

It is currently ranked at 25 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes.

So, it’s clear that before the actor found Game of Thrones fame, he’d definitely had his fair share of shortcomings.

In the same interview, Momoa also revealed that while he’s known for playing hyper-masculine characters, he’s now seeking roles that stray away from the audience’s perception of him.

“It’s been hard because people always think I’m just this dude who plays [macho characters],” he said.

“But I want to be moved, I want something new.

"Things are changing, and even the villain roles I’m playing now are eccentric.”

While Momoa has made a name for himself playing superheroes, the actor will appear as the villain in the tenth Fast and Furious flick.

According to GQ, the 43-year-old will play Deckard Shaw, who fashions painted purple and pink nails with a lavender car to match.

He teased: “I’m a peacock at the highest level and I’m having the time of my life.”
