Former adult film star Jenna Jameson has shared a health update with fans after being hospitalised with a mysterious illness.

Jameson, 47, was taken to hospital last month after she started feeling unwell, with partner Lior Bitton saying she had been throwing up for a couple of weeks and was in a great deal of pain.

Unable to find anything, medics sent Jenna home, however, the pain continued and she had to be readmitted.

Bitton explained: "Her muscles in her legs were very weak. So she wasn't able to walk to the bathroom. She was falling on the way back or to the bathroom, I would have to pick her up and carry her to bed.

"And then within two days it go really not so good, her legs started to not hold her, she wasn't able to walk."

He took her to hospital, where doctors initially thought she may have Guillain-Barré syndrome, a rare condition that affects the immune system and damages the nerves, which causes muscle weakness and sometimes paralysis.

But after five rounds of immunoglobulin therapy (IVIg) - the typical treatment for the disorder - and additional tests, doctors determined that, in fact, it was not Guillain-Barré.

Jameson has since been sharing the occasional post on Instagram, remaining in hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii, as doctors continue trying to figure out what’s wrong with her.

While she’s not revealed any official diagnosis, she has shared an update on her Instagram Stories to tell fans that she’d be out of hospital ‘soon’.

In a video posted on Monday, she said: "Hey you guys. So I am still in the hospital, but I'm doing okay and I'll be out soon.”

She also blew a kiss to the camera.

Two weeks ago, she shared a selfie from her hospital bed, thanking people for their support.

She wrote: "I just wanted to let you know that I see all your DM's and I appreciate it so much. We're just working towards getting better."

Many people commented on the post to wish her well, with one writing: "So glad to hear."

Someone else said: "Jenna!!!! So happy you’re on the mend."

A third added: "Well sick or not you look great. Get better soon Jenna!!! Warm wishes and prayers sent your way."
