John Wick: Chapter 4 has become the highest-rated film in the franchise on Rotten Tomatoes.
Sequels rarely outshine the original, but the upcoming instalment in the neo-noir action saga has done the unthinkable.
Chapter 4 has scored an impressive 93 percent on the movie website after nearly 90 reviews.

While the first John Wick film earned 86 percent, the second and third films scored 89 percent.
Still, the franchise has proved it's ageing better than a bottle of red as critics are loving the fourth instalment.
Some have even called it the ‘greatest action flick of all time’.
Reviewer Ed Travis from Cinapse upped the ante on the 'greatest action movie claim', calling John Wick: Chapter 4 ‘simply one of the greatest action films of this generation, and perhaps of all time'.

Now that is a bold statement.
But Ed isn't alone in his epic assessment of the film.
John Nguyen praised the movie's action sequences and said Chapter Four brings it to a ‘higher level’.

While Aaron Peterson for The Hollywood Outsider said there might not be another movie like this for quite some time.
Tom Santilli from Movie Show Plus praised the stunt work and action imagery, calling it a ‘new crowning achievement’.
While Abby Olcese, writer for The Pitch, also said the film would ‘satisfy’ its fandom as it fleshes out its supporting characters, which feel well-deserved in the fourth chapter.
She wrote: “John Wick: Chapter 4 is exactly as satisfying as you want a John Wick movie to be. It also allows its supporting characters a little more personality and development than the films have up to this point.”

And while the film is over three hours long, it hardly feels like it.
Olcese added: “Granted, all that makes the film nearly three hours long, but considering its non-stop momentum, you’re hardly likely to feel that length.
“These movies have remained entertaining and highly intelligent the whole way through, and the finale is no different.”

In Chapter: 4, Reeves reprises the titular role, with Ian McShane returning as Winston and the late Lance Reddick as Charon.
However, news broke last week that Reddick had ‘suddenly’ died at the age of 60.
Reeves and director Chad Stahelski announced they would dedicate the film in his honour.
"We are deeply saddened and heartbroken at the loss of our beloved friend and colleague Lance Reddick," Reeves and Stahelski said in a statement provided to Entertainment Weekly.
"He was the consummate professional and a joy to work with. Our love and prayers are with his wife Stephanie, his children, family and friends.
"We dedicate the film to his loving memory. We will miss him dearly."
John Wick: Chapter 4 is set to be released March 24.
