The ex-wife of Jordan Belfort – the real ‘Wolf of Wall Street' – has addressed a particular scene in the movie, stating that she believes it was a ‘fantasy’ of her former husband.
Here’s what she had to say about that scene in the nursery.
Dr Natalie Macaluso, who was the basis for Margot Robbie’s character known as ‘The Duchess’ in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street, has a knack for clearing up what is real and what is made up in the movie.

Of course, she knows the truth, having lived it herself in reality.
This time, it’s a scene that you’ll probably remember between Leonardo DiCaprio’s titular character and Robbie’s Naomi Lapaglia.
In the scene, Robbie teases DiCaprio after a falling out, sexually seducing him in their child’s nursery.
However, at the end of that scene, it backfires on her as Belfort points out that there is a camera hidden in a teddy bear on the drawers, through which two hired investigators are watching.

You probably don’t need too much reminding about the scene if you’ve seen the film.
Anyway, now Dr Macaluso, who was the real-life inspiration for the character, has opened up about whether or not it really happened.
Unsurprisingly, it didn’t go down quite like that.

On her TikTok, she said: “So many of you ask me – ‘is that scene in the nursery real?’ Well, I’m gonna break it down for you.
“Do your remember that scene where Margot is laying back and Jordan comes in and Margot – me – had the baby in her arms and she’s so mad at him for cheating on her for the hundredth time, and so she’s in the nursery and she lifts up her leg and says ‘there’s going to be nothing but short skirts around here’ – did that ever happen?
“No way! I am not that sexy. I wish I was, but I think that was my ex-husband’s fantasy of what he wanted me to be like.
“Secondly, there were cameras in the room, but I did not perform that sexual seductive act towards him.”

There you have it, sometimes the truth really isn’t as strange as the fiction.
For Robbie herself, having to perform the scene wasn’t exactly sexy, either.
She’s spoken in the past about how that whole scene was one that she had been ‘secretly dreading’.

That’s because she found herself ‘touching herself, effectively masturbating’ in a room full of blokes.
She said: “[I was] secretly dreading that scene,
“That was going to be more uncomfortable to watch than the sex scene at the end. It was going to be really awkward.
“It doesn’t come across when you’re watching the movie, but in reality, we’re in a tiny bedroom with 30 crew crammed in. All men.
“And for 17 hours I’m pretending to be touching myself. It’s just a very weird thing and you have to bury the embarrassment and absurdity, really deep, and fully commit.”
There’s another uncomfortable scene in which Jordan punches Naomi in the stomach during sex, which Robbie addressed: “We just wanted it to be just the most tragic sex scene you’ve ever seen.
“Just uncomfortable and tragic."
“Uncomfortable, because we wanted him to be so unaware of her repulsion towards him.
“Because so much of the nursery scene got cut out, something that you kind of miss is that [Jordan and Naomi] had a sick sort of aspect to their relationship.
“Not them as the real people, but the characters we created.
“He’s got this sexual obsession with her, and she uses her sexuality to manipulate him, so they both play these weird sort of f***ed up sex games to just mess with each other.”
