Kim Cattrall has revealed why she decided to make a surprise return for season 2 of Sex In The City reboot And Just Like That…
The Golden Globe winner was recently on American talk show The View where she took the time to open up about returning to the screen as Samantha Jones.
“It's very interesting to get a call from the Head of HBO saying ‘What can we do?’ ” said the British-Canadian actor.
Cattrall told HBO that she would agree to come back for a scene on the condition that the show would also bring back Patricia Fields, an experienced fashion designer from the original Sex In The City TV shows and movies.

“And she knows what's right for the characters and she’s always studying the script. I admire her so much.”

Similarly, Cattrall did not star in the first season of the reboot, which came out in December 2021.
Though, to many fans' relief, it was announced earlier this year that Cattrall would make an appearance as the one and only Samantha Jones in the season two finale of the series.
"I just thought that if I’m going to come back I gotta come back with that Samantha style,” said Cattrall.
“I got to push it. And we did.”

Another condition of Cattrall’s return was that she filmed her scene without any contact with any of her former Sex In The City co-stars, according to various reports.
Cattrall also filmed her scene without seeing or speaking to Michael Patrick King, the series writer and director.
Season 2 of And Just Like That.. premiered on 22 June, with the season finale, and Cattrall’s cameo locked in for 24 August.
UK fans can access the show on NOW TV and Sky Comedy, which is on HBO Max in the US.
