Kristen Bell has apologised to a fan who was left mortified after watching a steamy sex scene in her Netflix series The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window while his mum was in the room.
Yep, that’s pretty bloody awkward.
The viewer, named Eric, took to Twitter to say: “Just watched Kristen Bell get absolutely RAILED with my girlfriend and my mom in the same room…”
To which Bell replied: "Hahahahaha sorry dude."
Responding to the tweet Eric joked: “You need to apologise to my mom right now.”
Eric wasn't the only one taken aback by the scene, in which Anna (Bell) and Rex (Benjamin Levy Aguilar) share a lengthy and graphic sex montage, making the beast with two backs all over her house.
One fan wrote: "Soooo are we gonna talk about the lengthy not-so-softcore sex montage set to classical music…."
Another said: "Who needs like 20 sex scenes in one episode."
A third said: "Hilarious!! Watched it too last night and my kids were in the room it was pretty full on!!"
OTT sex scenes aside, fans have been lapping up the new show which - as you may have spotted by the title - pokes fun at recent psychological thrillers such as The Girl on the Train and the more recent The Woman in the Window, starring Amy Adams.
The official synopsis: “For heartbroken Anna (Kristen Bell), every day is the same. She sits with her wine, staring out the window, watching life go by without her.
“But when a handsome neighbor (Tom Riley) and his adorable daughter (Samsara Yett) move in across the street, Anna starts to see a light at the end of the tunnel.
“That is until she witnesses a gruesome murder... Or did she?”
Posting on Twitter, one fan said: “Binged watch this today and OH MY GOD! I would've never predicted the ending!
“Loved it. Kept me interested since episode one.”
Another wrote: “It's a fun parody of the distressed white woman psychological thriller genre. Kristen Bell's great in it.
“Has some good twists and a WILD unpredictable finale.”
Someone else said: "The Woman in the House.... was a flawless and perfect satire that was actually deeper than the critics could understand.”
While a fourth person added: “Y’all The Woman in the House is absolutely ridiculous and idc what happens in the last episode I’m gonna need multiple seasons.”
You can find out for yourself, because The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window is available to stream in its entirety on Netflix right now.
