The Duffer brothers have confirmed the final season of Stranger Things will take place entirely in Hawkins, Indiana.
Praise be as the band is finally getting back together.
Season four took place in various locations, with Hooper, Joyce and Murray being in Russia, the Byers family were in California, and the rest of the gang were in Hawkins. Itâs nice to know everyone will finally be reuniting for season five.
While appearing on Josh Horowitzâs podcast Happy Sad Confused, Matt Duffer said: âWe wanna go back to a lot of the things we did in season one.Â

"A lot of the original groupings and pairings that we had in season one â there's something nice about coming full circle.â

I mean, this honestly sounds like the perfect conclusion and will tie the show into a tight, nostalgic bow. Iâm already tearing up.
The brothers also confirmed that season five's episodes won't be as long as the latest one, so savour every moment, people.
They added: âFor the first time ever, we don't wrap things up at the end of [Season] four, so it's going to be moving. I don't know that it's going to be going 100 miles an hour at the start of five, but it's going to be moving pretty fast.Â
âCharacters are already going to be in action. They're already going to have a goal and a drive, and I think that's going to carve out at least a couple hours and make this season feel really different.â
In the same interview, the brothers spoke of the Stranger Things spin-off, confirming that the show would be â1,000 per cent differentâ.

âHopefully, we find that right person to pass the baton to while we go on to do new stuff,â they said while shutting down rumours it would follow the show's lead characters.
They added: âItâs not following â Iâve read these rumours that thereâs gonna be an Eleven spin-off, that thereâs going to be a Steve and Dustin spin-off, or that itâs another number.
âThatâs not interesting to me because weâve done all that. Weâve spent I donât know how many hours exploring all of that.â
However, they did reveal that the upcoming show would be tethered to the Upside Down in one way or another.
They continued: âThe most important connective tissue I would say is the storytelling sensibility of it.
"There is story that connects to the Stranger Things world, but it really is more about how weâre telling that story.â
Oooooo.. we already canât wait!
