Nicolas Cage has been overwhelmed by the response to his Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA) that he hosted over the weekend.
The AMA was one of the best-received on the platform with more than 181k upvotes and 26k comments, which is more comments than when Barack Obama did a similar Q&A.
When told about the achievement, Cage responded in the purest of manners and seemed to have enjoyed the Q&A more than anyone.
Speaking to entertainment company, Lionsgate, he said: “I have been blessed to have a very loyal group of film enthusiasts who've stuck by me through thick and thin and it meant a lot to me.

“By the way, that was the highlight of my day. We did it together, and I thought it was a terrific interview.
“With all the folks that asked me questions, they were really great questions, really thoughtful, and I was deeply touched."
Reddit AMA’s can often go off the deep end, with celebrities appearing to be disengaged, disrespectful, or not even bothering to answer 99 per cent of the questions asked.
However, many users felt Cage's AMA was one of the best in Reddit history.

One user said: “I came away with my belief that Cage treats his work and audience with a high degree of respect validated. He half-assed nothing in that thread, gave us sincere and interesting responses, and clearly valued the experience.”
Another commented: “He really answered those questions. Most were very thought out and full of little Easter eggs to his past. And he obviously LOVES what he does. One of the best AMAs I’ve read.”
Questions in the AMA ranged from queries about his favourite films, acting experiences, and even Cages’ favourite pasta shape.
When asked about his dream role to play in the future, he answered: “I would like to play Jules Verne’s Captain Nemo because of the character’s love of the ocean I share that with him.”
Cage was also asked about the quotes he hates most when hollered at him in public.

While there are plenty to choose from, Cage beautifully responded with: “I don’t have a problem with any of the quotes, I’m glad they remember the movie.”
He also admitted his roles in the 2021 film Pig and Martin Scorsese's drama Bringing Out the Dead were his favourite performances.
However, that choice could very well change after this next film, where he performs in perhaps his most challenging role yet as he plays… himself.
Cage is set to feature in the upcoming film The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent, a film that will follow a debt-ridden Cage who agrees to meet up with a superfan.
