The singing, swinging film of the summer - Elvis - is set for release this month and Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of The King, has joined in on celebrations for the film. Take a look at the trailer below:
Fresh from a 12-minute standing ovation at the Cannes film festival, Baz Luhrmann's biopic Elvis is no stranger to praise.
With fans saying they think Austin Butler's portrayal of the undisputed King of Rock and Roll is 'going to make history' and Priscilla Presley herself remarking that the film was 'beautifully done', it's no wonder Elvis' daughter has chimed in.
Elvis shares the story of the late star's rise to fame and his complex personal and public relationships, focusing particularly on his ties to manager Colonel Tom Parker, played by none other than Tom Hanks.
After seeing the film, Priscilla shared her thoughts on Instagram, saying: "I’ve seen Elvis the film, I watched the trailer over a dozen times. But the words I heard from my daughter on how much she loved the film and that Riley will love it too when she sees it brought tears.
"I relived every moment in this film. It took me a few days to overcome the emotions as it did with Lisa. Beautifully done Baz, Tom, Austin and Olivia."
Lisa Marie wasn't far behind her mother in praising the film, with director Luhrmann sharing a clip of her comments on Twitter with the caption: "This means everything. Thank you, Lisa Marie Presley."
In the clip, Lisa Marie says: "In my life it's been one disappointment after the other, in terms of people portraying my father. In various films or attempts to, bless their hearts, I'm sure they meant well."
The singers off-the-cuff 'bless their hearts' garnered a pretty roaring laugh from the crowd, as she continued to say: "I'm sure they meant well, but let me just tell you something, at this point, I tell you this with all my heart, that's the only reason I'm here: it's been done right."
This isn't the first time that Lisa Marie has praised the film as back in May, she took to Twitter to note: "I do want to take a moment to let you know that I've seen Baz Luhrmann's movie 'Elvis' twice now.
"Let me tell you that it is nothing short of spectacular. Absolutely exquisite. Austin Butler channeled and embodied my father’s heart & soul beautifully."
She followed up by saying: "In my humble opinion, his performance is unprecedented and FINALLY done accurately and respectfully. (If he doesn’t get an Oscar for this, I will eat my own foot, haha.)"
Elvis will drop in cinemas across the US and UK on 24 June.
