Meta Quest 3 Halloween 'Thrillboards' pop-up in Shoreditch, bending reality for passersby

Halloween. It’s for kids right? Trick-or-treating, dressing up, playing pranks…

Sure, there might be the odd house party or club night catered towards this kooky, spooky time of year, but what if we said there was a new reality-bending way to experience that genuine thrill you first had as a kid? Immersed in some of the biggest Halloween blockbusters and horror-themed shows of all time…so much so that you’ll feel like you’re part of their universe? Doesn’t sound so childish now, does it?

Well, we know such a thing exists, because we’ve experienced it with Meta Quest 3. And, honestly, we’re still sleeping with the light on.

To prove it, Meta Quest 3 are taking over the streets in Shoreditch with their ‘Thrillboards’. Two inconspicuous billboards seemingly showcasing well-loved Halloween titles that have been flip-turned upside down and, on closer inspection, invite passersby to enter the worlds of Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord and The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners to experience and demo them on Meta Quest 3; a mixed reality headset that literally expands your world.

Step inside one of the Thrillboards and have your senses awakened by visual illusions, eerie sounds and unusual smells from otherworldly settings. Will you be greeted by a padded marshmallow room or an unsettling forest in New Orleans?
