Hollywood star Michael Madsen has spoken out about his grief over the loss of his son Hudson Lee Madsen at the age of 26.
The Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill actor said that he and his family are ‘heartbroken’ over the death of Hudson, who died from a ‘suspected suicide’, authorities confirmed to The Sun.
The 64-year-old actor and his family released a statement that said: “We are heartbroken and overwhelmed with grief and pain at the loss of Hudson.
“His memory and light will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.
“We ask for privacy and respect during this difficult time. Thank you.”
Hudson was the godson of legendary filmmaker Quentin Tarantino, who has a longstanding working relationship with his father.
Michael Madsen is also the father of 25-year-old Calvin and 16-year-old Luke along with is wife and fellow actor DeAnna Madsen.
He also has two more sons, 31-year-old Christian and 27-year-old Max with his former wife Jeannine Bisignano.
According to Hudson’s Facebook profile, he served in the US Army and had performed at least one tour of duty in Afghanistan.
He is thought to have lived in Wahiawa in Hawaii with his wife Carlie.
Michael began his film career in 1982, starring in a number of box-office hits during that decade such as WarGames and The Natural.
In 1991 he featured in Ridley Scott’s Thelma & Louise before he started his long affiliation with Tarantino the following year with Reservoir Dogs.
Since then, he has worked on many films with the director including both Kill Bill films and The Hateful Eight.
He was also in Sin City, which was partially directed by Tarantino.
Outside of his work with Tarantino, Madsen has featured in films such as Donnie Brasco and received particular credit for his performance in James Bond film Die Another Day.
He has also worked on television and in video games, notably as the voice of Toni Cipriani in Grand Theft Auto III.
