As a result, tributes from the rich, famous, and beautiful have began pouring in for the Queen of Rock.

Frontman of The Rolling Stones Mick Jagger led the tributes.

Jagger famously duetted with Turner during Live Aid in 1985.

He took to social media to express his sadness at 'the passing of [his] wonderful friend'.

“She was truly an enormously talented performer and singer,” he wrote on Instagram.

"She was inspiring, warm, funny and generous. She helped me so much when I was young and I will never forget her."

Canadian rock singer Bryan Adams honoured Turner in a heartfelt Twitter post.

"I’ll be forever grateful for the time we spent together on tour, in the studio and as friends," he wrote.

"Thank you for being the inspiration to millions of people around the world for speaking your truth and giving us the gift of your voice. It’s Only Love and that’s all," he added, referencing to their 1984 duet 'It’s Only Love'.

Naomi Campbell took to Instagram to share her condolences.

"Rest in Peace & Power THE QUEEN, LEGEND, ICON. There will never be another. Cherish my times with you," the model wrote.

US singer Ciara thanked Turner for 'the inspiration you gave us all', adding that 'Heaven has gained an angel'.

Piers Morgan added: "RIP Tina Turner. Simply, the best."

Legendary basketball player Magic Johnson said: "Rest in peace to one of my favourite artists of all time, the legendary queen of rock n’ roll, Tina Turner."

As the world continues to reel from Turner's death, her publicist has revealed she died 'peacefully' at her home.

A statement said: “With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model.

"With her music and her inexhaustible vitality, Tina Turner thrilled millions of fans and inspired many artists of subsequent generations."

In a career spanning over 60 years, the American-Swiss singer, who was born Anna Mae Bullock in Tennessee, won eight competitive Grammy Awards and has a star on both the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the St Louis Walk of Fame.

Her much-loved autobiography, I, Tina, was turned into the 1993 film What’s Love Got To Do With It, dramatising the mother-of-two’s famously turbulent relationship with Ike Turner and it also saw Angela Bassett nominated for an Oscar for her performance as Tina in the biopic.
