After Adele brought fans the sad news of her upcoming hiatus earlier this week, it turns out her choice to take time to herself came at a personal cost.
Well, the cost of £152 million, to be exact.
Adele, who has lifted the UK up and equally brought us all down with her crooning hits about love and loss, is said to have turned down a $200 million deal which could have seen her continue to tour.

However, it was only recently that she told fans on stage that she’d be going on a break 'for an incredibly long time'.
The 36-year-old singer finished her Munich tour with a sad revelation.
She said to the crowds: "I've got 10 shows to do, but after that I will not see you for an incredibly long time and I will hold you dear in my heart."

Even though her break won’t be for a while, since she still has to go back to Las Vegas to complete her Caesars Palace residency which was part-cancelled due to her ill health, she’ll leave the industry after it ends.
While she confirmed that she’d be shunning the spotlight for a bit, she also apparently shunned her whopping offer of hundreds of millions.
Showbiz journalist Alison Boshoff told the Daily Mail that this deal would have seen the star travel to Macau, China, and head on to do another world tour.

And an insider shared: "There have been a lot of offers but she has turned them all down because she wants to be home with her kid."
They added: "The Chinese deal put millions of dollars on the table, but she did not want to do it in the end. She's put her kid and boyfriend and herself first."
But this isn't first time the 'I Drink Wine' singer expressed that she wants to spend time away from the limelight.
In July, she spoke to ZDF, a German broadcaster, about what she planned to do.

She said: "I want a big break after this, and I think I want to do other creative things. Just for a little while."
While her Munich tour was a massive success, she caught a lot of flak for cancelling 10 Vegas shows when she was ill.
The singer contracted Covid and had to cancel some of her shows, leaving fans who had spent a crazy amount of money flying over and booking hotels pretty disappointed.

At least anyone who wants to see her in Vegas can do so until the end of the year, as the residency will continue and run up until November 23.
Telling fans in Germany, the singer said: "I've been calm all week to the point my friends were worried something was wrong.
"There was that s**t show of me cancelling Vegas. I wouldn't be here if that didn't happen - I couldn't carry on if I'd done a show I didn't believe in."
