Neil Young has announced a surprise UK performance this summer, and fans are scrambling to buy tickets before they sell out.

The American singer-songwriter will headline BST Hyde Park on Friday, July 11 with his band The Chrome Hearts. He will be in good company too, with special guests Yusuf (Cat Stevens) and Van Morrison joining him on the main stage.

The news comes off the back of Young's huge Love Earth World Tour announcement, which will see the 79-year-old tour the US and Europe.

On Reddit, fans rushed to express their excitement at his surprise London summer show, with some contemplating buying multiple tickets.

“Think I’ll be selling my Dublin tickets,” one wrote. “Don’t want to miss the chance to see Neil Young and Cat Stevens on the same bill… Who am I kidding? I’m gonna end up going to Dublin and London.”

Meanwhile, others revealed a little-known secret in the Reddit thread. According to a couple of fans, Gold Circle tickets offer better views and sound at BST Hyde Park.

“Excellent news! I’m gonna try for Gold Circle. Just need that ticket now and I can get excited,” one fan shared. “The last time I saw Shakey was at Hyde Park with Bob Dylan in 2019 and it was a wonderful day. I need my Neil fix.”

Another agreed, as they added: “Amex presale already on sale. Got my Gold Circle tickets. Saw Yusuf’s Glastonbury set a couple of years ago on TV. He’ll be amazing to see.”
