Woman who offered Oasis fans her garden to camp in to avoid hotel fees shares update after tickets go on sale

Woman who offered Oasis fans her garden to camp in to avoid hotel fees shares update after tickets go on sale

Tickets, hotels, this is all so expensive

A woman who offered Oasis fans struggling to find a hotel room for next year's gigs her garden has provided an update.

In case you've not heard, Oasis are getting back together and going on tour next year.

Tickets have been a bit of a nightmare to buy since they went on sale this morning but there have been plenty of other problems as well - including trying to book hotels.

A load of people claimed they suddenly found their hotel bookings on the weekends Oasis were playing were no longer available due to a 'computer error', only to find that the cost had skyrocketed if they tried to book again.

Dalata Hotel Group, which runs Maldron Hotels, told LADbible that this had been due to a 'technical error' and promised to honour all bookings made before 26 August.

Booking.com also spoke out, and it was pretty clear that trying to sort out accommodation for Oasis tours was going to be a nightmare.

However, brave heroes of music have stepped in, who have offered alternatives to the legions of Oasis fans wondering where they're going to go.

Among them was a woman who said she lived near Heaton Park, where Oasis are playing their Manchester shows, and would let people stay in her garden on one condition.

"I live right by Heaton Park," Olivia Bridge posted on Twitter. "If you're an Oasis fan and don't want to fork out £100s for a place to kip, you can camp in my garden. For free."

"The only condition is that you get a ticket for me too. I'll pay for it, and I'll even throw in brews, breakfast and a driveway.

"This is actually a serious offer! I've got my parents and pals all at the ready for Saturday 9am, but anything to increase my chances."

A ticket for a place to kip seems like a fair trade, but Olivia was one of the lucky ones who was able to get a ticket for herself.

Fortunately, she's not forgotten the needs of her fellow Oasis fans and issued an update letting them know she was 'committing to the bit' and would still be letting some of them camp in her garden.

The garden is big enough for a few tents, so the entirety of the fans heading for Heaton Park won't be able to stay there, but it's nice that this community has been so much fun that there will be a spot for a lucky few to stay.

She had previously said 'no ticket, no entry', but she said she 'can’t let The Internet and the 100s of new fellow fans I’ve met in the weirdest 48 hours of my life down'.

Best of luck to those still trying to get Oasis tickets, I'm currently around position 80,000 in the queue and am pretty sure it's not happening for me.

Ticketmaster also recently provided an update: "Tickets are still available, but inventory is now limited and not all ticket prices are available."

Where will Oasis tickets be sold?

Fans will be able to buy tickets from 9am on Saturday 31st August from SEE Tickets, Ticketmaster and GIGSANDTOURS. Hospitality packages will also be available via Seat Unique.

Tickets will be limited to four per household, per show. Under 14s will not be allowed and those under 16 will have to be accompanied by an adult.
