A cruise ship worker who appeared on a new Netflix chat revealed a horrifying demand made when he was working on one.
The revelation came in the newest episode of John Mulaney Live, the American comedian's new talk show.
The comedian has promised repeatedly whilst marketing it will ‘never be relevant’, focusing less on bringing celebrities on to promote their newest projects but instead to use them to discuss wide ranging topics.

The second episode of the show, broadcast live on Wednesday night, focuses on cruise ships.
The guests of the newest episode of the show include a Cruise ship expert Anne Kalosh, as well as Ben Stiller, Quinta Brunson, and Nick Kroll.
John Mulaney Live allows live callers to speak to the guests and give their thoughts and experiences with the topic, with James Anderson, a former SNL writer calling in.

The writer, who Kroll and Mulaney knew from their time on the show, revealed that when they first moved to New York, they were a dancer on a cruise ship.

Anderson then revealed how, when they first joined, they were being shown where the lifeboats were, where rations were, and other details for emergencies.
Anderson said: “There was the day where we had to do our lifeboat duties, they took us down and showed us the lifeboats and then they said, ‘well here’s where the food rations are, here’s where the flare gun is, and here’s where the gun is,’”
The revelation led the entire sofa of stars to react in absolute shock, with Mulaney covering his mouth.

When they asked what the gun was for Anderson says they were told: “If someone freaks out or becomes detrimental to everyone in the lifeboat you would just, you know, there it is, and then you would just toss them overboard.”

John Mulaney jokingly asks, ‘as a dancer’ whether he was in charge of this, with Anderson responding saying: “Yes, that went through my mind because I was thinking of what I was wearing in the show and it was like this sparkle top”, and described an elaborate outfit.
Thankfully, the former dancer and SNL alumnus clarified that he didn’t have to follow through on his training and ever kill anyone.
Mulaney joked that they would be ‘lucky’ to be ‘gun-bound by you and thrown into the ocean like Osama Bin Laden.’

The comedian has spoken about how his goal for the show is not to be relevant or even necessarily maximise how many people view it, saying at a Next on Netflix event: “We will never be relevant. We will never be your source for news. We will always be reckless. Netflix will always provide us with data that we will ignore.

“Not since Harry and Meghan has Netflix given more money to someone without a specific plan.”
John Mulaney Live airs on Netflix every Wednesday.
