Look, Netflix can throw banging new shows at us all it wants but the reality is, plenty of us are just too hung up on the golden oldies to move into the present.
Like sure, another season of the Umbrella Academy is exciting, and many people might be itching for the latest load of You episodes. But our heads are quickly turned by one of the greatest TV shows of all time being added to the platform.
And many viewers are struggling to think of doing anything else than binge their way through a Netflix drama branded ‘one of the best’.

Earlier this year, the platform released eight seasons of a legendary series packed with crime, comedy and shocking twists.
Yep, Dexter. The popular show starring Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan follows the blood splatter analyst as he struggles with his urges to become a vigilante serial killer.
It originally ran from 2006 until 2013, with the ‘ninth season’ Dexter: New Blood released in 2021 and added to Prime Video.

A sequel is even in the works, with Dexter: Resurrection set to drop in the summer of 2025.
And all these years later, fans are still loving watching the show as they go as far to say they ‘almost lost’ their job as they’d stay up all night watching it and be late for their shift the next day.
Taking to LADbible’s Netflix Bangers group on Facebook, users have called it ‘a must watch’ and absolutely ‘one of the best’.

Another even said: “It’s taken over my entire life, I want to be sitting in my couch watching Dexter and not at work.”
Others echoed: “Honestly hands down the best! It was one I hated having to stop watching to adult lol.”
Ah yes, having to go and adult is pretty inconvenient when you’re deep in a series.
Plenty agreed with this as they admitted: “My life was on hold from the beginning to the end!!!”

So, many ended up warning those starting it for the first time: “You’re about to get hooked,” as some confessed, they were ‘addicted’ to watching the series.
However, some viewers do complain it’s ‘boring’ and has the ‘worst ending’ in TV history.
Those complaints about it being a slow start don’t seem to apply universally though as another said: “I watched the entire series in one week. I did nothing else.”

You can stream all eight seasons of Dexter on Netflix now, with spin-off Dexter: New Blood available on Prime Video.
