Filming has begun for Harlan Coben's next Netflix crime thriller

Now let's hope there's not too long until we can binge it

Just when you thought you’d finished binging all of the Harlan Coben series, there’s another one on its way.

Released at the beginning of the year, Fool Me Once was quickly the number one on Netflix with fans absolutely buzzing to hear there were more in the works from the writer.

And now, after the streaming site confirmed two more Coben series, the next one has begun filming.

Production teams have been spotted taking to the streets of Manchester to film scenes for Missing You, with photos showing one of the leads in action.

So, as we sit trying to be patient for the new series to drop on Netflix, here’s what we know so far…

Missing You is Harlan Coben's latest Netflix series.

What is Missing You about?

Of course based on Coben’s novel, Missing You will follow Detective Kat Donovan 11 years on from the disappearance of her fiancé Josh.

Despite never hearing from him since, she suddenly sees his face while swiping through a dating app.

The reappearance of Josh will send her diving back into the mystery around the murder of her dad and uncovering long-buried secrets from her past. Juicy.

Who is involved in Missing You?

From production company Quay Street Productions, the series is written by Victoria Asare-Archer and directed by Sean Spencer.

Coben serves as one of the executive producers on Missing You with Netflix currently keeping the cast under wraps.

However, the photos taken of filming show Slow Horses actor Rosalind Eleazar seeming to take on the role of Kat.

Where is Missing You being filmed?

We know from Fool Me Once that the team seem to love a bit of Manchester and the surrounding areas with Stay Close also being filmed in the northwest.

The Missing You production team were spotted filming in Spinningfields with Eleazar photographed on set as shoppers watched on.

Other scenes for the series have reportedly also been filmed in Bolton.

When will Missing You hit screens?

Unfortunately, it’s not yet known just when we can expect to binge Missing You on Netflix but with production only just beginning it’s unlikely to be in the near future.

Filming for Fool Me Once began back in February 2023 before wrapping in the August, so from that timeline we could hope this next series will premiere at a similar point - the beginning of 2025.

Obviously, we’d all be welcome to that happening much sooner and perhaps with the massive success of the last, Missing You could be a priority.
