New Netflix reality game show is already being called ‘better than The Traitors’

That's certainly some fighting words.

Not even two weeks after season two of The Traitors dropped on TV and some viewers have already claimed that they have found an 'even better' show on Netflix.

Hosted by Claudia Winkleman, the BAFTA-winning BBC programme is a reality competition where 22 strangers play the ultimate game of detection, backstabbing and trust - all in the hope of winning up to £120,000.

Last February, a cloaked-up Winkleman confirmed the news of the second outing on X (formerly Twitter).

Now, in season two, 22 new strangers are battling it out at a castle in the Scottish Highlands in the hopes of picking up the hefty cash prize.

The first episode dropped on BBC One on 3 January and it's already been hailed as 'genius reality TV' amongst the critics.

However, some viewers reckon they've found something even better on Netflix.

CNN correspondent Brooke Baldwin is the host of The Trust: A Game of Greed - another gameshow with a 'social experiment' styled set-up.

The Netflix series - which came out on 10 January - follows a group of strangers who are competing for a once-in-a-lifetime offer of a quarter of a million dollars.

Take a look at the trailer below:

So, the way it works is 11 strangers are given the chance to split the money evenly.

They have a tough choice to either take home their equal share, or to vote each other out to keep more for themselves.

Netflix has called it 'the ultimate test of human nature', as greed and mistrust threaten to destroy even the strongest of relationships.

"In this game, everyone starts as winners and they can all leave as winners," they said.

And it's not as if the contestants sit and lounge around all day because they are provided with new tests each week - forcing 'players to confront their biggest insecurities, long-held secrets, and past histories'.

With a whopping $250,000 (£196,000) pot up for grabs, some viewers are calling it 'better than The Traitors'.

Taking to X, one viewer tweeted: "The Trust >>>>>> The Traitors."

Another added: "#TheTrust I love it. I can not wait for the next episodes. #TheTrustNetflix #thetrustagameofgreed."

"There’s a new show on Netflix called the trust and it’s good too! It’s another BB Traitors type show," agreed a third.

Although not everyone felt the same way, as someone else penned: "Just watched episode one of The Trust and I was so incredibly disappointed.

"I know The Traitors has its issues but it’s way more compelling.

"Reality competitions need to be better. And they need to cast people that will lean into the show or game they’re playing."
