Netflix has dropped the first trailer for an epic about the Guinness family which is sure to be the next big obsession for Peaky Blinders fans.

Peaky Blinders may have originally aired on the BBC but, for fans of the Birmingham series, Netflix is now the go-to place.

In addition to the upcoming Netflix film that will see Cillian Murphy return as Tommy Shelby, the show now streams on Netflix after the platform inked a deal with the BBC.

Now, however, the next TV programme from Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight is set to release on Netflix later this month.

Called House of Guinness, it follows the Guinness family dealing with the fallout of the death of their monarch, Benjamin Guinness.

The TV show is set to star James Norton, Anthony Boyle, Louis Partridge, Emily Fairn, Jack Gleeson, and Fionn O’Shea.

The first trailer comes just a short four weeks before House of Guinness comes out and has been an immediate hit with viewers.

Peaky Blinders fans will be excited not only by the fact that it comes from Knight but is the most obvious direct tonal follow-up from the writer yet.

One commented on X about the trailer, saying: “If it’s anything close to [Peaky Blinders] im definitely watching.”

Another added: “Holy Sh*t! If you know ANYTHING about the Guinness family history then you know this is gonna be a seriously wild and interesting show.”

Over on YouTube the response was similar, with the top comment saying: “From the creator of Peaky Blinders’ The name is enough.”

Someone else specifically pointed out one of the other most exciting elements of the upcoming show.

They wrote: “I'm so happy that Jack Gleeson (Joffrey, first of his name) hasn't retired from acting in TV and movies.”

This marks one of the few projects Gleeson has taken since his return to acting.

The Irishman took ten years off acting after making his name in Game of Thrones as the villainous Joffrey Baratheon.

Starring in just 27 episodes, Gleeson became one of the most hated characters ever put to screen and then promptly disappeared from the spotlight.

The actor appeared in just a couple of small TV shows with bit part roles and one indie film, but outside of that, he starred in nothing until 2023’s In the Land of Saints and Sinners.

Speaking about his decision to take a step back from acting, Gleeson stated that Game of Thrones had sapped his love of acting out of him.

He said: “For some reason, I don’t know it became a bit kind of mechanical and less kind of passionate when I started Game of Thrones.

“I think when it became less of a recreation and more of a profession, it kind of put more pressure on the acting itself and made it a tiny bit less enjoyable.”

Now, he’s back and one of the many reasons that Netflix fans are excited for the brand-new show from Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight.

House of Guinness releases on 25 September on Netflix.
