Netflix drops trailer for Stephen Graham murder mystery series set in four different eras

The upcoming Netflix show Bodies focuses on four detectives who all discover an identical dead body - but something fishy is going on

Thriller fans get ready as a new murder mystery series is about to drop onto our screens.

Bodies is a police procedural with a twist, as it's set over four different but interconnected time periods.

And if that doesn't make you more curious, the series also stars Stephen Graham at the centre of the mystery.

Arriving on Netflix on October 19, the series is based on the best-selling graphic novel of the same name by Is Spencer.

If you've not read it yet, then now is the time to pick up a copy as this series is set to have an insane amount of twists and turns.

As the name suggests, there's more than one investigation in Bodies with detectives delving in the case in 1890, 1941, 2023 and 2053.

The mini-series has an interconnected plot with spans over a century.

However, there's more than meets the eye as the cases not only share the same location, Longharvest Lane in London's East End, but also the same body.

It's not long though before the police start spotting the eerie connections between each investigation - with enigmatic political leader Elias Mannix (Stephen Graham) seemingly at the centre of it all.

But, how could a single man be involved in cases that span over 150 years?

Well, unfortunately, you'll have to tune in to find out.

And just like Graham's character tells viewers, the series 'will blow your mind'.

Netflix have shared a first look at the mysterious drama.

Even the first look image give viewers only a few tantalising details, but we do know that the show will have an absolutely incredible cast.

Alongside BAFTA award winner Graham, the murder mystery will also star Shira Haas from Unorthodox as investigator DC Maplewood and Jacob Fortune-Lloyd (The Queen's Gambit) as DS Whiteman.

There is also some serious writing talent behind the short series, with creator Paul Tomalin has developed episodes of major UK shows like Torchwood, Shameless and No Offence over his career.

The teaser trailer gives fans frustratingly few clues to crack the case.

Likewise, Danusia Samal, who also co-wrote and created the series, has written episodes of Gangs of London as well as being an actor in her own right too.

Understandably, viewers are already excited about Bodies, with many in awe of the incredible teaser trailer.

Reacting in the comments in YouTube, one even wrote: "Now that’s how you do a trailer, basic, said about the plot, make it interesting, then leave them wanting more."

Another agreed, writing: "Wow, this is an impressive trailer, added to my waiting list."

Here's hoping that the hype is worth it when the series drops next month.

Bodies arrives on Netflix on 19 October.
