Just when you think you’ve ran out of things to watch, another series suddenly appears and hooks you in.

Netflix is a pretty common culprit of doing just that and an upcoming release could really have you not wanting to draw your eyes from the screen for anything.

That’s because the platform is about to drop what is easily one of the most bingeable shows of recent years.

Hailed as one of the biggest TV series, it’s only really been available for UK viewers on Paramount Plus. But now, life is about to change for many, as Netflix are adding Yellowstone.

Created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson, the neo-Western drama stars the likes of Kevin Costner, Kelly Reilly, Luke Grimes and Taylor Sheridan.

Over its five seasons, the series has picked up a long list of nominations and awards, with Costner scooping up a Golden Globe for his performance last year.

Yellowstone follows him as John Dutton, a sixth-generation homesteader who controls the largest contiguous ranch in the US. The doting dad operates in a corrupt world ‘where politicians are compromised by influential oil and lumber corporations and land grabs make developers billions’.

The Duttons' property ends up being in constant conflict with those it borders while changes in alliances, unsolved murders and other troubles add to the problems.

Yellowstone has been a huge hit since its first season in 2018 with the fifth coming to an end in December 2024.

It’s not currently clear just how much of the series Netflix will be adding in the UK but it is set to drop on 30 January.

The show has had various spin-offs with 1883 and 1923 following the Dutton family in those periods. And it’s also reported that two further series, 6666 and 1944 are in development.

The drama series currently sits on a decent 83 percent on Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer.

There has been mixed reaction to the various seasons with some unhappy with the recent finale. Overall, it has a 8.6/10 star rating on IMDb where fans praise the ‘outstanding cast’ and call it ‘one of the best shows on TV’.

One called it the ‘country version of Sopranos’ as many agree it’s ‘worth watching’.
