A Stranger Things star has revealed his hopes for the ending to the series, and I think we all probably agree with him.
The final season is currently in production, with Millie Bobby Brown stating on the Jonathon Ross show earlier this month that the cast had a mammoth nine months of production ahead of them.
Finn Wolfhard was asked about the upcoming season five in an interview with AccessOnline, where he revealed some information on his hopes for the hit Netflix show.

Wolfhard stated in his interview that the cast haven’t even received scripts for the final episode yet – so even they don’t know how it ends.
He stated in his hopes for the ending: “Truly, I would love a Lord of the Rings style happy ending.
“They’re waiting to give us the last episode, we’ve read up to the second-to-last episode so we’re all on the edge of our seats to find out what the ending is.”
In the joint interview with Grace McKenna for Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, McKenna Grace joked about her hopes for Wolfhard’s Stranger Things character Mike Wheeler.

“I think [Mike] should be dragged to the upside down and we leave him there!”
Wolfhard added to the joke, stating he thinks the reveal at the end of the season should be that ‘it was all a dream’.
The idea of a happy ending for the characters – who are probably the most traumatised kids in history – is a welcome one.

Thankfully for fans though, the Duffer Brothers who created the hit show have already addressed the idea it might be a dream or an elaborate game of Dungeons and Dragons the kids have been playing.
Matt Duffer said: “I assure you that is not how we’re going to end the show. We’ve known where we’ve been going for a while. And we feel comfortable with it; hopefully, it satisfies everyone. We’ll see.”
Producer Shawn Levy has said that season five is set to be a mammoth production, comparing it to a ‘blockbuster movie scale’.

He said: “There’s no way to be contiguous with season 4, and not, frankly, expand scale and depth.
"It’s major, major, cinematic storytelling that happens to be called a TV series. Stranger Things [season] 5 is as big as any of the biggest movies that we see.”
Whilst Wolfhard doesn’t know how the show ends, and none of the cast has the script for the final episode, one other star supposedly knows how it ends.
David Harbour, who plays Detective Hopper, said on the Happy Sad Confused Podcast: “I know where we net out and it’s very, very moving.”

“It’s a hell of an undertaking too. I mean the set pieces and the things in the scripts that we saw are bigger than anything we’ve done in the past.”
Here’s hoping for a happy ending for all our favourites when Stranger Things season five eventually makes it to our screens.
