Netflix has just dropped one of its most controversial series ever.

Supersex 'loosely' tells the story of one of the most iconic pornstars to ever perform in front of a camera: Rocco Siffredi.

The 'Italian stallion', as he is known, shot over 1,300 films during his pretty lengthy career, gaining a name for himself as the 'godfather of rough sex'.

So you can imagine the kind of tone the biopic is going to have.

Delving into his upbringing and move into the adult industry, the x-rated seven-part series shows Rocco's rise to fame.

Asked by LADbible whether viewers will be shocked by what they see in the series, Rocco says confidently: "For sure."

The 59-year-old explained that the series was a way of giving people the full story - and hiding nothing.

"I never, ever like to tell you one part of me, I always say everything," he explains.

"You either like it or you don't, this is who I am; I could never be who I am without showing everything about myself.

"The part shown on Netflix, which people don't know, is the way I grew up, the way my life came up since I was a child. How did I grow up? What were the situations involved in my life?

"So this is the main Rocco, really, which people don't know, most people know me just in front of the camera, naked."

Created by Italian screenwriter Francesca Manieri, Supersex sees Alessandro Borghi take on the lead role.

It also stars Jasmine Trinca as Lucia, a fictional woman who 'represents a synthesis of most women with whom Rocco had a relationship in his life'.

Alongside Borghi and Trinca, Adriano Giannini stars as Rocco's half-brother Tommaso.

When the trailer landed earlier this year, many Netflix customers felt the streaming giant had 'gone too far'.

"Okay I'm gonna come right out and say it, #Supersex looks like it's gonna be too much for me. Netflix has gone too far."

"You know, Netflix turned into a hardcore sex channel so gradually, I didn’t even notice," a third wrote.

While someone else piled in: "I’m not sure I like the direction Netflix is going. Unlike Rocco, I can’t get behind this."

Some, however, were looking forward to it, with one person describing it as 'right up my alley'.

Well, with the entire series now available for you watch at your pleasure, we won't have long to wait to see if Rocco was right.
