Viewers of a certain 2014 film have continued to beg for a sequel, almost 10 years on from its original release.

Starring British actor Dan Stevens alongside Maika Monroe and Leland Orser among others, the movie was described by ScreenRant as 'one of the most creative thrillers to come out in recent years'.
This is despite the fact that it only generated $2.7 million (£2.1 million) at the box office against a budget of $5 million (£3.9 million).
It explores themes such as family, the military and bullying, as Stevens was praised by critics and fans for his portrayal as the main character.

So amid all the fan-fare, there's no wonder that it had a resurgence in popularity once it dropped on Netflix.
The flick in question is called The Guest, and you can watch the trailer below:
The Guest follows former American soldier David Collins (Stevens), who checks up on his recently deceased friend Caleb Peterson's family, as his final wish following his death in Afghanistan.

Initially, David is polite and friendly as he temporarily moves in with the family, but after a number of deaths occur in town in the days that follow, daughter Anna (Monroe) thinks that David may have something to do with them.
But it's the ending that really leaves viewers calling for a second instalment to the film series.
*Spoilers ahead*
It turns out that David and Caleb were military experiments gone wrong, with the latter dying following modifications to become 'Captain America' type soldiers, while David was programmed to kill anyone that could compromise his identity.

In the final scene, it appears as though the Peterson children killed him in a fire as they discovered that he was on a killing spree, but Anna then spots a limping David, disguised as a firefighter, fleeing while she sits with her brother outside the scene of the fire.
Viewers of the 2014 film have been desperate for a sequel following its tense ending that leaves it well and truly open for a part two.
One user commented: "It is a crime that 2014's The Guest never got a sequel.

A different user questioned: "THE GUEST sequel when..??!"
And someone else commented: "Just need a sequel to The Guest now and it can be 2014 all over again."
