People can't stop praising this brand new crime thriller that has dropped on Netflix.

It was only released on the streaming platform on Thursday last week (28 November), though it currently sits at number two on Netflix's top 10.

'Tis the season of binge watching, with darkness taking over the majority of our days, it's time to get comfy on the couch with a hot drink and watch a TV series from back to front, because do you really want to go out in the cold?

There's always time to watch Christmas movies, but what about the newest, edge-of-your-seat thrillers? Well, look no further.

Starring Academy Award nominee Colman Domingo alongside the likes of Marsha Stephanie Blake and Gabrielle Graham, the American crime-focused series has caught the attention of Netflix viewers.

It follows media pundit Muncie Daniels who becomes a target after accidentally finding a dead body in the Poconos.

He must clear his name and reconnect with his family, as the conspiracy theory series also explores how technology and politics influence public opinion in the 2020s.

It's called The Madness, and you can view the trailer here:

Despite having a modest score of 69 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, the six-part series is well-liked by viewers, as they have taken to Twitter to urge others to give it a watch too.

One user wrote: "The Madness on Netflix is actually scary as f*** bc that s*** literally be happening in real life."

Another shared: "What’s crazy is how REAL The Madness on Netflix is.

"Those offended are the problem."

A third posted: "The Madness on Netflix is so such a good binge watch. Not sure why the 56% on Rotten Tomatoes."

A different user pointed out the key feature of diversity in its casting, writing: "I can’t believe I finished ‘Cross’ and ‘The Madness’ all in 3 days. I loved most that Black men were the main characters in both of these series, defending their names, supported by their children and women in their lives.

"We needed that."

Another user took to TikTok, explaining why people should watch it 'tonight', saying that after she turned it 'on by accident', she 'was hooked' soon after.

"If y'all looking for something good to watch tonight, this is it. This is a good show, so make sure y'all tap in.

"Especially if y'all into, like, the CIA drama filled things in shows like I am," she explained.
